An assault on an 18-year-old woman appears to be the latest in a string of sex attacks that have set neighborhoods in southeastern Queens on edge, police said. The victim bravely fought off her attacker on 145th St. in Jamaica about 12:20 a.m. Friday. The man slashed her in the hand and knocked her to the ground before he ran off, police said. Investigators have linked that assault to four other sex crimes near bus stops in Queens since early July. Last week, the NYPD upped its efforts to catch the attacker by deploying cops to search buses and patrol bus stops. Nearly 10 other women have been raped or sodomized by a second attacker in recent months who has preying on victims in the same predominantly black Queens neighborhoods.
