The last time we saw Forrest Griffin he was literally running away from a deflating loss to Anderson Silva. By his own admission, the former light heavyweight champion failed to deliver on a grand stage. Since then, Griffin has gotten married, started work on his second book and will soon release a new iphone app.

Do not let his other interests fool you. He still wants to be a fighter. Speaking to FanHouse, the man coming off back-to-back UFC losses detailed what his future holds:

“You know, the bottom line is I will do whatever the UFC wants me to do. They've really taken care of me and my career, thus far, so whatever direction they want me to go in, whoever they want me to fight, and that's genuine. I'm more preferential about where I fight than who I fight. I would really like to fight in, I don't know, Las Vegas. Or maybe, stretch, California, if I have to. I like to fight close to home, on my time zone, with the air that I'm used to, where I can control my food better. There's more fights overseas, and I understand I may have to fight overseas, but I put more into where I fight than whom I fight. I've never asked for anybody, well, except maybe 'Shogun,' actually. I almost think that you're kind of jinxing yourself. Like, I'm afraid to ask for opponents.”

Griffin is currently honeymooning with his new bride. Upon his return on October 13th he will rededicate himself to training in hopes of being a part of UFC 108 taking place in Las Vegas next January. While no opponent has been confirmed, rumors persist that Rich Franklin, Stephen Bonnar or Keith Jardine might offer the competition.
